About
Bound by necessity, liberated through form, realised through computation.

Ananke Eidos is a design-led practice working across architecture, industrial design and computational design. Our work spans residential projects, the development of prefabrication strategies, and the creation of bespoke algorithmic tools and software to support design and delivery.
We guide clients through every stage of a project, from initial design appraisals and planning submissions to technical coordination, tendering and construction-stage support, with a focus on clarity, buildability and quality throughout.
The practice is driven by a belief that well-considered spaces should be a pleasure to inhabit, whether for living, working, socialising or retreat. We are deliberately structured to offer a highly personal service, while retaining the capacity and technical capability to deliver complex and substantial schemes.
Every project is approached as a unique design response, shaped by its location, context and brief. Our role is not to impose a predetermined architectural language, but to understand what matters to our clients and translate it into clear, well-resolved design. We place strong emphasis on buildability, and we maintain constructive working relationships with local planning authorities.
Our work is communicated through hand drawing, CAD and advanced three-dimensional modelling, so that ideas are explored rigorously and presented clearly.
Ethos
We believe architecture is born in the dialogue between resistance and possibility. Matter confronts us with its weight, its limits and its necessary laws. From that resistance emerges the search for form, not as an aesthetic afterthought, but as the principle that gives structure, harmony and meaning.
Computation is the bridge between necessity and form. Through mathematics, data and rigorous analysis we reveal the patterns beneath complexity and find geometries that persuade matter into new expressions. Technology is not a tool for efficiency alone; it is a medium of thought, a way of drawing the invisible into the visible.
The mark
The mark is drawn from two of Plato's solids. The icosahedron, his figure for water and for matter that yields, is drawn first and recedes to a ghost.
The dodecahedron, the figure he reserved for the cosmos, is drawn through it. The two are true duals: every face of one answers a vertex of the other, and they share one midsphere.
Matter gives way; form is what remains when necessity has been answered.
Director
Edward Rowbottom
I am a computational designer and consultant working across architecture, digital fabrication, algorithmic modelling and prefabrication. Trained in architecture and developed through industry, I work where design, scripting, mechatronics and robotic manufacturing meet.
Architecture is not short of tools. It is short of frameworks that bring those tools into meaningful dialogue with one another. That is the work Ananke Eidos exists to do.
