The project
Our work here was design proposals and visualisation for turning an agricultural barn into a family house. Several plan arrangements were drawn and tested before one was taken forward.
The proposal keeps the volume of the barn open at its heart: a double-height living space crossed at first floor by a floating walkway, with the exposed roof trusses running overhead. Bedrooms sit under the pitch, lit by rooflights, so the structure of the barn remains the thing you read from every room.
