Digital Fabrication

Prefabrication strategies, moulds and prototypes that make computed geometry buildable.

A form found by computation is only worth as much as the means of making it. We design the moulds, joints, modules and sequences that turn geometry into built pieces, and test them as prototypes before they reach site.

Our work spans CNC machining, 3D printing, laser cutting, casting and timber, and the prefabrication of whole facade systems.

  1. Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, 2025

    Casting the Sagrada Flora openings

    The paraboloid openings were categorised by shape, split into negative and positive moulds and cast as a prototype, testing how a computed perforation becomes a buildable piece.

  2. Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, 2025, group project

    Jigs for self-supporting structures

    3D-printed feet and a foam mould held each timber stick at its angle until the ring locked itself in place, so the robot built without temporary supports.

  3. Doctoral research, ongoing

    A reconfigurable mould for vaulting

    A cable net and notched bars, reeled and lifted by stepper motors and columns, that take the shape of a funicular vault and are reset for the next.

  4. Archiologics, 2025

    Prefabricated facade modules

    Facade modules detailed algorithmically, manufactured in Valencia and shipped to Cardiff for installation by crane.
